Sheng Wenqing was born in Jilin Province in 1965. He was accepted into the Jilin Academy of Fine Arts in 1987 and graduated in 1991. He continued his study at the University of California from 1997-1998. During that time he participated in the Los Angeles International Exhibition of Fine Arts. Wenqing lives and works in Beijing.
